Today’s Encouragement (8-9-16) – Be Thankful

Today’s daily encouraging bible verse:

“15 For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, 16 I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers
Ephesians 1:15-16

Today’s challenge for the believer: 

Today’s challenge is about being thankful. 

Step one – take 10 to 15 minutes at some point today to pray with God. During the prayer time share with him all of the things you are grateful for. Give him praise for the wonderful things that he has blessed you with, and the important people that he has surrounded you with. 

Step two – Tell as many people as you can today, why you are thankful that they are in your life. There is no set number on this, but if you are a competitive person, have fun with that. Set yourself a goal. Personally I am going to try and thank 15 people today. Let me also encourage you to thank people who work very hard, yet received very little in return.For example telling a teacher how much they mean to you can go along way.

A little background on the bible verse:

Who is speaking – Paul

Who is he speaking to – The Ephesians

What is he telling them – He Is letting them know that he has not stopped thinking about them. That he is continuing to pray for them daily and is proud of their commitment to Jesus. He reminds them to be in prayer and to be thankful to God for all that he has given us, but also to be thankful to those in our lives who have been a blessing to us.

Today’s challenge for the believer: 

Today’s challenge is simple. post your profession of faith to your favorite social media website. What is it specifically that you believe and why is it that you believe that? Your testimony could be a part of this, or just share the specifics of what you believe. Not just, I believe in God. But like the song says get specific.

Ex: I believe in God the father, I believe in Christ the son, I believe in the Holy Spirit, Our God is three in one.

Today’s challenge for the believer: 

Today’s challenge is a personal challenge for each of you. If you’re going to go to church today, I recommend that you try your best to take your worship to the next level today. Allow yourself to pray deeply during the music and sing loudly. I don’t care if you have a voice of an angel or if you are actually legally tone. It’s not about the tone for the notes. It’s about the heart. It’s about Giving God the praise and singing with the Felis love that only we can receive from him. 

Two of this challenge would be to then after church post your favorite song from church that day on your social media page. Share with that video means to you. It’s as simple as hitting the share button and saying something along the lines of what a amazing song. Or going deeper into why this song affects you. It is through our truth and I love that people will come to know Jesus.

For those of you who don’t go to church today, I recommend you find a worship song online and do the same thing. Sent spend some time alone with God in your room or wherever, and seeing out to him with all of your heart. Then share the video with your friends.

Today’s challenge: 

Reach out to someone today, who you think may be having a hard time. If no one specific comes to mind, then just connect with any friend. Call them email them or whatever’s best for you. 

When you get a hold of them, let them know how much you care about them. Let them know that they are never alone and that God will always be there for them. Remind them that we serve an amazing God Who will never leave or forsake us.
